Clubs
La Liga has always been a highly competitive league. A few clubs have managed to achieve far greater success compared to others, but every season brings new challenges. The league consists of 20 clubs, each featuring professional players who consistently showcase their skills at the highest level.
Structure and Format
La Liga features 20 teams competing across 38 matches in a season that runs from August to May. Each team will play every other team in the tournament 2 times, that will be one in home and one in a way.
Points System:
- Win: 3 points
- Draw: 1 point
- Loss: 0 points
The team which will win most point throughout the season will be champion of la liga.
Promotion and Relegation
To maintain competitiveness and introduce fresh talent, La Liga operates a promotion and relegation system with the Segunda División.
- The three lowest-placed teams are relegated
- The top two teams from the Segunda División are promoted automatically
- The team from 3rd to 6 will be playing in playoff to choose which team will play in la liga in next season

If teams finish level on points, league positions are decided using the following criteria:
- Head-to-head record
- Goal difference
- Total goals scored
- Fair play record
European Competitions
La Liga provides multiple qualification spots for European competitions:
- UEFA Champions League: Top 4 teams
- Europa League: 5th and 6th place, plus Copa del Rey winner
- Conference League: Usually awarded to the 7th-placed team
Financial Fair Play (FFP)
La Liga enforces strict Financial Fair Play regulations to ensure financial sustainability. Clubs are restricted from spending more than their generated revenue, preventing reckless financial behavior and ensuring fair competition across all 20 clubs.
